Jean-Philippe Lamoureux is the regular season MVP of Erste Bank Eishockey Liga



With a save percentage of 94.6%, a goalkeeper convinced the expert journalists at the MVP election. J. P. Lamoureux from EC Red Bull Salzburg received 44 points and thus the most votes of all players in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. Lamoureux not only had the best save percentage in the regular season, but also received the fewest goals per game from the regular goalkeepers (1.75). The Salzburg goalie was instrumental in winning the regular season phase 1 and thus led the "Red Bulls" back into the Champions Hockey League. 

The 35-year-old US American won the vote for the most valuable player of the Regular Season by a clear margin and was named first eleven times. David Madlener (EC-KAC), another goalie, follows in second place (28 points) - Brian Lebler from the Liwest Black Wings Linz (19 points) received the third-most votes. The Ron Kennedy Trophy is thus going to Salzburg for the first time since premiere MVP Thomas Koch (2008/09). In the past three years the Trophy has been in the firm hands of the Vienna Capitals (Peter Schneider, Rafael Rotter, Riley Holzapfel). Lamoureux will already be honoured on Wednesday during the Servus Hockey Night live match between Salzburg and Villach. 

For the first time the Playoffs MVP will also be chosen
For the first time this season, not only will the most important and valuable player of the regular season be chosen, but the MVP of the playoffs will also receive an award in the decisive game of the finals.
